Where in the U.S. are the

Roosevelt Park Zoo Animals ?

Summer 2011
As the Souris River surged toward Minot, N.D., Roosevelt Park Zoo staff with the help of community volunteers and other North Dakota state AZA Zoos worked to safely evacuate all the animals that called the Zoo home. All of our exhibits and buildings were buried under depths up to 12 feet of water. The extensive damage caused by the flood required Zoo staff to find alternative housing arrangements for our animals until the Zoo grounds can be repaired. Through the network of accredited Zoos and area ranches, our animals have found refuge coast to coast. Thank you to all the institutions currently housing and caring for our animals.
